MMFF 2017 surpasses P1-B target sales, movies extended in selected cinemas

The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) has successfully surpassed its P1 billion sales target for this year and even set new records for MMFF gross sales.

Moreover, MMFF hungry fans can still enjoy a post-Christmas gift from the festival as it extends its showcase of the films in selected cinemas.

The good news was announced in the official Facebook page of the MMFF.

“We are very happy to announce that we have hit our targets and have set new records with the MMFF 2017 grosses,” the MMFF said.

The festival execom has previously announced that they will not release exact figures and rankings to avoid creating a bandwagon effect on viewers.

Some entries, however, previously announced earnings. such as Vice Ganda’s “Gandarrapido: The Revenger Squad,” which has become a certified box-office hit.

Overall, “Ang Larawan” won the Best Picture award, with Joanna Ampil as the festival’s Best Actress and Derek Ramsay as Best Actor.

The Gabi ng Parangal was held last Dec. 27 at the Kia Theater. /atm
