Binibining Pilipinas 2016 second runner-up Jehza Huelar will surely remember the end of 2017.
The beauty queen got the surprise of her life as her basketball star boyfriend of three years, Peter June Simon of the Magnolia Hotshots, chose the remaining hours of the year to propose to her.
Simon posted on Instagram a photo of himself kneeling in front of Huelar, and popped the question to her on New Year’s Eve.
He wrote, “You are my today and all of my tomorrows,” adding the hashtag #SheSaidYes.
In her own page, Huelar wrote that Simon “waited for years and prayed for a perfect day” to ask her to marry him, as she shared a Boomerang video of her kissing him. She was wearing her sparkling engagement ring.
“[Y]ou made me believe that a man like you still exists — very patient, respectable and kind. You are a man of your word — and I’m very proud of you,” she said in admiration of her fiancé.
“I’m glad that you inspire me and always remind me to follow my heart above all. Thank you for having my back,” Huelar added.
