Solenn Heussaff
Like last year, celebrity couple Solenn Heussaff and Nico Bolzico will not spend Christmas together. The television host-actress will celebrate the holidays in the Philippines, while her husband will stay for a month in his hometown in Argentina. But, Solenn doesn’t mind. After all, she and Nico are together most of the year, anyway.
“It’s OK with me, because his family is there. I’m neither selfish nor possessive naman,” Solenn said in an interview at a recent gathering for CDO Premium Holiday Ham, which she endorses.
Solenn initially considered going with Nico, but decided against it upon seeing her schedule. “When I saw what I have to do next year, I told Nico that it’s not the right time,” she related. “I only have a week off, and the travel time alone to Argentina will eat that up. I will be left with about four days there, and it’s not worth the trip.”
Christmas Eve is usually spent with her brother Erwan—who does the cooking—and his wife Anne Curtis, as well as her sister, Vanessa. “It’s just a small group,” said Solenn, who will be part of two coming films. She also hosts the GMA 7 shows, “All-Star Videoke” and “Taste Buddies.”
Solenn loves celebrating Christmas and the things that go with it—putting up decorations, hearing Christmas songs, opening gifts, and of course, the food. “I love ham, cheese ball and pan de sal, which my mom used to prepare,” she said.
“Dapat masaya ang Christmas every year. I make sure that I spend time with family and that we eat together.” —ALLAN POLICARPIO
