Last year, actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith traveled to Australia to spend the holidays with her family. This year, Jasmine, who has an entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival (Paul Soriano’s “Siargao”), celebrated Christmas in the Philippines.
“My youngest brother Thomas is visiting, to spend the holidays with me at home,” she relates. “Our mom has decided to stay in Australia … away from the kids.” On Christmas Eve, she had Noche Buena with sister Anne Curtis, who had just tied the knot with Erwan Heussaff. Christmas Day, however, was dedicated to boyfriend Jeff Ortega and his family.
She simply yearns for the “gift of time.” “I want to spend more time with my loved ones. I want to enjoy the holidays with them.”
Jasmine admits having difficulty thinking of presents for her relatives, especially since “they seem to have everything.”
Highlight
She asserts that Christmas “is different every year.” “There’s always a highlight that makes it unique and unforgettable. But one memory that stands out was that time a few years ago when we were complete and got to hang out in Australia.”
