LOOK: Pokwang’s ‘hugot’ cookbook nominated for int’l award

Scrumptious dishes, presented with some “hugot” lines, turned out to be an effective formula for comedienne Pokwang whose cookbook is now up to compete for an international award.

She shared the good news to her followers in Instagram by posting a screenshot of a text message informing her that her cookbook “Patikim, Pokie!” got nominated in the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards, as one of the best cookbooks of 2017.

Even while she received the recognition, Pokwang maintained her humility and thanked those who went out in stores to grab copies of the book.

Pasensya na po sobrang happy lang ako sa balita at di ko maiwasan na hindi i share sa inyo lalo na sa lahat ng tumangkilik ng aking #hugotcookbook, ang #PatikimPokie,” she wrote. (Please excuse me, I’m just really happy about the news and I can’t help but share it to you, especially to those who bought copies of my hugot cookbook, “Patikim, Pokie!”)

Established in 1995, the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards honors the best food and wine books, either in printed or digital format, as well as food television. At least 205 countries participate in the annual competition. JB
