Star Cinema’s newest Halloween treat, “The Ghost Bride”, has just been graded A by the Cinema Evaluation Board (CEB), and rated PG (parental guidance) by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board.

“The Ghost Bride” lead star, Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu, shared photos via Instagram of the ratings from CEB and MTRCB.

A grade “A” rating, which stands for good quality as adjudged by evaluators, qualifies the movie for a 100 percent tax rebate. Meanwhile, an PG rating means children below 13 years old must be accompanied by a parent or supervising adult when admitted into a screening of the film.

The story of “The Ghost Bride” revolves around the character of Mayen who, because of extreme necessity, gambled into the Chinese tradition of ghost marriage. Mysterious matchmaker Madame Angie Lao, played by veteran actress Alice Dixon, introduces her to the practices of the tradition. These would mark the beginning of the bizarre and horrific events in her life.

Produced by Star Cinema and directed by Chito Rońo, “The Ghost Bride” is already showing in cinemas nationwide. JB
