Family drama-comedy film “Seven Sundays” has now reached the P100 million mark in earnings as of yesterday, Oct. 17.

The news was announced by ABS-CBN’s movie production outfit Star Cinema through a recent Instagram post.

The movie’s main cast include Cristine Reyes, Enrique Gil, Dingdong Dantes, Aga Muhlach and Ronaldo Valdez.

“Seven Sundays” is Muhlach’s big screen comeback after his long hiatus. In previous interviews, he mentioned that the movie’s compelling story and the roster of cast members are what convinced him to finally say “yes” to making the project.

Initially, Muhlach was reluctant to accept the movie project after having gained weight during his film hiatus. However, since the story revolves around family, and since he won’t be playing leading man and would not be under pressure to lose weight, he became further enticed to do the film.

Dantes, on the other hand, may belong to the rival network, but he’s among the few actors from the Kapuso network who’s a certified Star Cinema favorite. Proving this is the roster of movies he’s done with Star Cinema, such as “Segunda Mano”, “She’s The One”, “The Unmarried Wife”, “One More Try”, and “Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kiyeme”.

“Seven Sundays” is about a sick father, played by Valdez, who was told by the doctor that he only has seven weeks to live. With his condition, he begs his four busy working children to spend time with him during his last remaining Sundays.

Directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina, “Seven Sundays” is showing in cinemas nationwide. JB
