The trailer set the bar pretty high for the movie, as Chadwick Boseman proved he is the perfect fit to assume the role of King T’Challa, AKA “The Black Panther,” of the technologically advanced and vibranium-rich Wakanda.

FEATURED STORIES

Much like the first one, the clip features action-packed sequences while further introducing the majestic fictional kingdom, along with its mysterious inhabitants. The nonstop action is hyped up even more by an incredible soundtrack—Vince Staples’ “BagBak.”

“I have seen Gods fly, I’ve seen men build weapons that I can’t even imagine. I’ve seen aliens drop from the sky. But I have never seen anything like this. How much more are you hiding?” Everette Ross (played by Martin Freeman) from the US State Department asks T’Challa.

The two-minute teaser also showcases the titular character’s technologically superior suit made out of vibranium, the same material used for Captain America’s shield.

But perhaps the biggest spotlight was saved for the film’s menacing antagonist, as Michael B. Jordan’s Erik Killmonger returns to Wakanda to usurp T’Challa from his post.

A showdown between the two polarizing figures took place by the trailer’s end, as Erik Killmonger proved to be a worthy adversary, possessing the same indestructible suit as T’Challa.

Meanwhile, “Black Panther” features an impressive line-up of actors, including the likes of Lupita Nyong’o, Daniel Kaluuya, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis and Angela Bassett.

The film claws to cinemas on Feb. 16, 2018. /ra
