WATCH: ‘Black Panther’ trailer teases fictional Wakanda kingdom
The first teaser trailer for Marvel’s “Black Panther” was released on Friday.
Chadwick Boseman reprises his role as T’Challa, known as the Black Panther and ruler of Wakanda, a fictional and technologically advanced African kingdom.
Amid his valiant spirit, T’Challa has the mission to eliminate his rival Erik Killmonger (played by Michael B. Jordan). Also featured in the teaser is Black Panther’s Dora Milaje, a group of powerful female bodyguards.
In an attempt to extract Wakanda’s secrets, assassin Ulysses Klaue (played by Andy Serkis) is held and questioned by Everett K. Ross (played by Martin Freeman) in one of the trailer’s scenes.
Directed by Ryan Coogler, “Black Panther” also casts other prominent African-American actors including Lupita Nyong’o, Forest Whitaker and Danai Gurira. Boseman first introduced his character in the box-office hit “Captain America: Civil War” back in 2016, according to The Guardian.
