WATCH: Keanu Reeves revives family as clones in ‘Replicas’

Keanu Reeves goes back to starring in a science fiction movie in the upcoming “Replicas”.

Instead of being a prophesied hero as in “The Matrix”, Reeves plays a scientist who found a way to bring his family back from the grave through cloning.

The trailer shows how his character, William Foster, and his family were in a car accident. No one survived except him. In a few scenes, Foster’s family can be seen going about their lives as if nothing happened until things start to go wrong with the clones.

“Replicas” appears to touch on the ethical issues that arise when it comes to using technology for bringing the dead back to life. Jeffrey Nachmanoff (“Day After Tomorrow”, “The Tourist”) directed this sci-fi thriller.

The movie was shot in Puerto Rico. According to a statement, Reeves has joined hands with the organizers of New York Comic Con in the effort to raise relief funds for the victims of hurricane Maria, the strongest hurricane to hit Puerto Rico in over 80 years. JB
