Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach is finally back in the Kapamilya network.
Just yesterday, the former beauty queen signed an exclusive two-year contract with ABS-CBN. In a series of recent Instagram posts by Jonas Gafud, the beauty queen maker was proud to announce the development in Wurtzbach’s career.
Gafud, who goes by the Instagram handle @jonasofmercator, uploaded a photo of him and Wurtzbach inside the ABS-CBN grounds. His post was captioned, “Finally, our Miss Universe is now officially a Kapamilya. Just signed a two year contract with ABSCBN.”
In another post, Gafud shared that “It took almost 8 months of communicating and finalizing everything. But it’s worth the wait. We are extremely happy and blessed indeed.”
In her early days as a teen actress, she went by the screen name Pia Romero. She was among a new breed of teen stars introduced by Star Magic in the early 2000s. She was launched via the now-defunct teen-oriented series “K2BU” alongside fellow Kapamilya actresses Bea Alonzo, Shaina Magdayao and Angeline Aguilar.
At that time, her career did not prosper as much as her batch mates did. She however strove hard to be successful in other areas. She joined pageants as it had always been her dream to be a beauty queen.
Wurtzbach failed to win the Binibining Pilipinas crown twice and only won the third time. She eventually snatched the Miss Universe 2015 crown, making herself the third title holder from the Philippines.
Her life story was featured in the long-running drama anthology, “Maalaala Mo Kaya”. JB
