Jackie Chan says script for ‘Rush Hour 4’ now ready

Fans of the action-comedy franchise “Rush Hour” have long been wondering whether a fourth movie would indeed materialize.

Now, it looks like their prayers have been answered, as the film’s lead star, Jackie Chan, confirmed that detectives Lee and Carter could possibly be reuniting again for another thrilling adventure.

For the last seven years, we’ve been turning down the script, turning down the script,” Chan, who’s also in charge of producing the movie, said in an appearance on “The Cruz Show.” “Yesterday, we just agreed.”

The revelation, however, comes with a catch, as the film will only push through if Chan’s co-star Chris Tucker approves.

“The script probably at the end of this month will have a second draft, and next year, probably [we will] start. I hope — if Chris Tucker agrees,” the legendary action star confirmed.

With both actors advancing in age—Chan at 63 and Tucker 46—Jackie stressed that it’s about time to create the fan-favorite film.

“We’re all, like, old men. I told Chris Tucker, ‘Before we get old, please, let’s do Rush Hour 4.”

Meanwhile, all three “Rush Hour” films were directed by Brett Ranner and raked in a combined $849 million worldwide. /ra
