Ai-Ai delas Alas explains why she and fiancé Gerald Sibayan have a prenup
Ai-Ai delas Alas confirmed that she has a prenuptial agreement with her husband-to-be Gerald Sibayan.
During a press conference for “Bes And The Beshies,” the Comedy Queen, 52, said, “Mayroon kami kaya lang confidential, hindi pinag-uusapan kasi ayaw ng lawyer (We have a prenuptial agreement, but the details cannot be divulged, according to our lawyer).”
She also revealed that it was her 23-year-old fiancé’s suggestion to have one so that they could avoid controversy, and that her own mother and Sibayan’s family also agreed that the prenup was ideal.
She added that the agreement did not mean that their marriage would not last.
“Alam mo ‘yung sa ganyan para na lang din sa kapayapaan ni Gerald para wala na siyang basher…Kumbaga hindi iyon ang batayan nang pagsasama n’yo ng matagal (The prenup is for Gerald to be left in peace so he won’t have bashers… It’s not a way of saying how long you will last),” she explained.
The actress has had two previous marriages, one of which was with Jed Salang, who is 20 years her junior. Their marriage lasted one month.
Delas Alas said in a Facebook Live interview with GMA that her wedding would be in November. Niña V. Guno /ra
