But for viewers of its TV adaptation “Game of Thrones” intricate details of how things came to be could be quite overwhelming.

HBO looks to answer such questions with its new animated mini-series, “Conquest & Rebellion.”

FEATURED STORIES

The studio recently unveiled a sneak peek at its first episode, “Valyria’s Last Scion: House Targaryen,” which delves into Aegon Targaryen’s conquest of the Seven Kingdoms.

The four-and-a-half minute teaser, narrated by  actor Harry Lloyd (who played the cunning Viserys Targaryen in season 1), also briefly touched the fabled “Doom of Valyria”and ended with Aegon’s plans of conquering  Westeros.

The whole 45-minute mini-series, meanwhile, will be available on “Game of Thrones” season 7 Blu-ray, slated to be released on Dec. 12.

Other episodes will be told by other Game of Thrones stars including Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (who plays Jaime Lannister), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Aidan Gillen (Petyr Baelish), Conleth Hill (Varys) and Pilou Asbæk (Euron Greyjoy). /ra
