LOOK: Maine Mendoza fangirls over Kim de los Santos
A fan of classic Filipino teen romantic movies, Maine Mendoza went on fangirl mode upon seeing one of the most famous teen stars of the ’90s, Kim de los Santos.
In a recent Instagram post, the “Eat Bulaga” host shared how she was so overwhelmed upon seeing the former teen star inside the “Eat Bulaga” studio and “when she [Kim de los Santos] came up to me and gave me a hug.”
Despite being barely born at the time when ’90s romantic movies were at their peak, she revealed that she was a certified fan of “Tagalog cheesy films.” Some of her favorites are “Dito sa Puso Ko,” “Honey My Love so Sweet,” “Wala na bang Pag-ibig,” “DoReMi,” “Kung Ayaw Mo Huwag Mo” and “Ikaw Lamang.”
“These movies never fail to make me happy and they also make me squeal like a pig because of kilig– up until now!” she added.
Her fangirl heart is indeed happy “but I am happier to know that she is an AlDub fan too!”

Her admiration for De los Santos and her honesty of patronizing classic ’90s romantic movies earned praises from the netizens.
Her photo with De los Santos also reignited the flame in some fans of the former teen star.
Kim de los Santos was one of the most successful teen stars of the ’90s. She was part of a teen trio that included fellow former teen actresses Antoinette Taus and Sunshine Dizon. Altogether, they were launched via the 1996 hit afternoon drama series “Anna KarenNina.” She soon joined the second batch of phenomenal ’90s teen-oriented show, “T.G.I.S”.
She did a few movies but her most memorable film was “Ikaw Lamang” with former on-screen partner and eventual husband Dino Guevarra. They were among the hottest love teams of the ’90s. After years of marriage, the two finally separated. She then found a new life in the US as a certified nurse while Guevarra continued his acting career in the country. He also remarried and had kids. /ra
