A trans man who was once a contestant in “Starstruck: The Next Level” and “Pinoy Big Brother” showered Jake Zyrus with full support for coming out.

On his Twitter account, Jesi Corcuera empathized with the 25-year-old singer, who opened up about his life struggles and gender identity in an episode of ABS-CBN’s “Gandang Gabi Vice.”

“Some men are born in their bodies [while] others have to fight for it. That’s us,” Corcuera tweeted on Sunday, inviting Zyrus to guest on his YouTube video blog series. “Naiiyak ako dahil alam ko kung ano ang pakiramdam at pinagdadaanan ni Jake Zyrus (I feel like crying because I know what Jake Zyrus feels and experiences).”

Zyrus, formerly known as Charice Pempengco, thanked him for his support, to which Corcuera responded with, “Got you, bro.”

As a lesbian teen, Corcuera was a contestant on the GMA reality show in 2006 and was once paired with actor Paulo Avelino. He joined “Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7” last year as a transman.

Zyrus announced his name change on social media in June. To fully transition into a man, Zyrus had his breasts surgically removed, and has been undergoing testosterone hormone therapy since April.  Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
