‘The Jetsons’ live-action TV series in the works—report
“The Jetsons,” the original ’60s cartoon that gave the older generation an impression of the future, will have its live-action remake.
According to TV Line, Warner Bros. has assigned “Family Guy” executive producer Gary Janetti to helm the TV series. But instead of its original year of 2062, the series will be set in the year 2118.
Originally produced by Hanna-Barbera in 1962, “The Jetsons” revolves around the daily ritzy lives of George, Judy, Jane and Elroy Jetson, a well-off family residing in an extraterrestrial utopian city called Orbit. They have a housemaid, a robot named Rosie and a pet canine named Astro.
The success of “The Jetsons” ushered in several films and spin-offs including “Rockin’ with Judy Jetson” and “The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones.”
The series’ popularity soared alongside its Stone-age counterpart “The Flintstones,” which was first broadcast in 1960. Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
