Niall Horan: Collaborating with One Direction bandmates would be ‘weird’

Although he’s optimistic about One Direction ending its hiatus soon, Niall Horan thinks that a future collaboration with his bandmates is a “weird” idea.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight Canada on Tuesday, the “This Town” singer admitted that recording with Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson for his upcoming album didn’t sit well with him.

“I suppose right now, it would be a bit weird,” he divulged. “Can’t rule anything out really, can you? But I never rule out anything, to be honest.”

While Payne, Styles and Tomlinson are molding their respective solo careers, Horan is exerting efforts for his debut album, which he targets to release later this year.

“There’s a lot of stuff going on at the minute, promo-wise, around the world,” he told the program. “Performing things down in Australia, and it’s all crazy at the minute. So when I get time to stop that – or when that stops – I’ll then release it. I’m really looking forward to it.”

Just like the other “One Direction” members, Horan, 23, has been relentlessly quizzed about the British boy band’s highly anticipated comeback. Last month, he told Billboard that he would “drop everything” for a One Direction reunion in the future.

In last year’s interview with the Sunday People, he promised fans that One Direction would perform on stage in the next few years.  Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
