WATCH: Before becoming ‘Wonder Woman,’ Gal Gadot was a mermaid

Before stunning everyone with her titular role as “Wonder Woman,” Gal Gadot was, once upon a time, a glowing mermaid.

A YouTube video uploaded in 2011 featuring the Israeli actress performing as a mermaid has been rotating online lately. Gadot, who was young at that time, was singing and dancing to a Hebrew song as part of a Hanukkah special show that aimed to raise funds for children, Buzzfeed reported.

Gadot’s throwback performance solidifies her fans’ admiration not only for her Amazonian superheroine role but for Gadot’s wonderful life legend. She represented her country in the Miss Universe tilt in 2004 at age 19, and served in the Israeli army for two years. Later on, Gadot ventured into acting and modeling before entering Hollywood in the “Fast and Furious” saga, where she played Gisele Yashar.
