WATCH: Coldplay performs ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ at One Love Manchester
Following the tragic events of the Manchester terrorist attack last month, British band Coldplay and pop star Ariana Grande joined forces to perform an emotional tribute for the entire city.
Singing in front of a packed audience at the One Love Manchester concert over the weekend, the unlikely duo performed Oasis’ classic hit “Don’t Look Back in Anger”.
“You’ve been singing for us, and now we want to sing for you,” frontman Chris Martin told Grande prior to the performance.
The song’s strong lyrics and melodic tune has become the anthem for the mourning city, which lost 23 lives and saw 119 others injured, when a shrapnel-laden bomb detonated after Grande’s concert last May 22.
Meanwhile, in a separate performance, Oasis’ Liam Gallagher made a surprise appearance and performed “Live Forever” alongside Coldplay. Khristian Ibarrola/JB
