Celebs recall lessons learned from their mothers

/ 12:30 AM May 13, 2017

It’s been 14 years since my “SuperwoMom” got her “call slip” from heaven. But to this day, some people still call me “Anak ni Inday Badiday”—and that never fails to make me smile. Being her daughter will always be my best credential.

As we celebrate Mother’s Day tomorrow, I remember all the “Mommyisms” that Ma left me with. One of my faves is: “When you have to end a relationship, make sure you do so while you still have some self-respect left.”

No matter how famous celebs are, they need some “mothering” every now and then. As a Mother’s Day special, I asked some stars to share some of the “words of wisdom” they got from their moms. Here goes:

Iya Villania

RICHARD YAP: I don’t know if it applies today, but my mom used to quote a Chinese saying which is translated [as follows]: Children should have ears, but no mouth. This means that children should always listen to what their elders are saying, so that they can learn from them. But they should not butt in or gossip about what they hear.

Smart Communications’ newly launched #TimeForMomHabit video introduces creative ways to use technology as a tool to interact more with the most important women of our lives: our mothers. So, let’s not be mum to our moms.
