To take a respite from personal grief and exhaustion brought about by her show-biz commitments, Sharon Cuneta flew to the US for a solo vacation.
The Megastar temporarily bid adieu to her family and fans on Thursday as she jetted all by herself to the States.
“Bye for now, Philippines. The girl’s been through way too much pain and fatigue in the past few weeks, she has to collect herself and regroup once again,” Cuneta captioned her airplane selfie on Instagram. “Being away from everything mundane and familiar provides a different, fresh perspective. The only thing I hate about being away from my family is, well, just that. But we all always have to take care of #1 too — meaning, ourselves.”
According to ABS-CBN’s Bandila, Cuneta, 51, took a break from work to “recharge and recover” herself following the death of Willy Cruz, the OPM songwriter who paved the way for her successful musical career. Also, some of Cuneta’s relatives recently passed away, the report added.
Cuneta will return to the country for the finale of her talent search “The Voice Teens” with fellow coaches Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo and Bamboo Mañalac. She teamed up with Basil Valdez and Ryan Cayabyab for a concert and soon, Cuneta will begin filming for her indie film. Gianna Francesca Catolico /ra
