Daniel on being ‘exclusive’ with Kathryn: ‘Anyone still shocked?’

This has been a long-running question in local showbiz: is Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo officially together? The rumored couple still refuses to give a direct answer, but Padilla has declared that they are “exclusive” to each other.
The entertainment press got up close with the Kapamilya love team during the press conference today of their newest romantic flick, “Can’t Help Falling In Love”.
When asked to explain what he meant by “exclusive,” the young actor said in a somewhat sarcastic-yet-joking tone, “May nagulat pa ba ‘dun? Nabibigla pa ba kayo? Oo [we are exclusive], ano sasabihin ko?” (Is anyone still shocked about that? Are you still surprised? Yes [we are exclusive], what can I say?)
However, the 21-year-old actor clarified that their personal and professional lives are completely different, and both of them are aware of the constant changes entailed by working in showbiz.
“Exclusive kami sa personal lang naming buhay, pero siyempre pagdating sa trabaho nating ito, hindi mo naman pwedeng sabihin na gan’un lang, darating tayo sa point na magkakaiba rin,” he said.
(We are exclusive on a personal level, but of course, when it comes to our job, you can never say that things will always remain the same; we will eventually reach the point when we’ll have to face changes.)
The couple has always been seen publicly displaying their closeness. All through out the press conference, Padilla was at ease with putting his arm on Bernardo’s lap, as they both entertained questions from the media. And just the same, Bernardo likewise comfortably placed her hands on Padilla, not at all minding the cameras focused on them.
“Siguro napapakita lang namin kung gaano kami ka-komportable sa isa’t-sa and ‘yung pagiging sweet ni DJ hindi lang sa ‘kin, pati sa ibang tao, very affectionate talaga siya,” Bernardo explained.
(Perhaps this only shows how comfortable we really are with each other. Also, DJ is sweet not just to me but to other people as well. He really is very affectionate.)
Padilla and Bernardo had just gone back from their Palawan escapade to celebrate her 21st birthday.
“Can’t Help Falling In Love” is KathNiel’s much-awaited summer romantic movie, produced by Star Cinema. It is slated to show in cinemas nationwide starting April 15. JB
