The tenth installment of the X-Men franchise “Logan” serves as the swan song for two of the series’ most prominent leads – Hugh Jackman as Logan/Wolverine and Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier/Professor X.
After the former revealed that he might suit up as the clawed mutant anew if offered a gig with the Avengers, the 76-year-old English actor said he’d also be willing to revive the character for the “right vision.”

As seen in a Facebook Live video by MTV, both Stewart and Jackman sat down with correspondent Josh Horowitz and discussed the future of the superhero genre—particularly the success of last year’s Deadpool, which has close ties with the X-Men franchise.
When asked if he was officially done with X-Men, Stewart said: “I would have said yes, but the discussion just now about ‘Deadpool’ makes me think. Well, maybe there is a proper justification for the revival of Charles Xavier,” he said near the video’s 25-minute mark.
Although intrigued by a possible appearance in another successful franchise, Stewart is leaving the character with no regrets, having played the wheelchair-bound telepathic mutant over the course of 17 years.
The veteran actor was emotional after the screening of “Logan” over the weekend and said: “There will never be a better, a more perfect, a more sensitive, emotional, and beautiful way of saying au revoir to Charles Xavier than this movie.” Khristian Ibarrola/JB
