Kapamilya TV host-actress Mariel Rodriguez welcomed her newborn daughter with Robin Padilla on Monday, November 14, in Delaware, USA.
In an Instagram post by Padilla, he revealed that it took 21 hours for Rodriguez to give birth to their firstborn, Isabella, via normal delivery. Padilla also posted his video call with Rodriguez while she was in hard labor.
“Isabella’s head is already low. Today is November 13 here. Isabella is the one who decides, not anyone else…She said now. I woke up from the pain,” Rodriguez told Padilla. “I don’t think I’m going to survive without a med, it’s too painful.”
The action star apologized to her for not being by her side. “Babe, I’m sorry wala ako diyan (Babe, I’m sorry that I’m not there),” Padilla told Rodriguez.
The couple got hitched in a star-studded wedding ceremony on Aug. 19, 2010, in India. Rodriguez, who had suffered two miscarriages, decided to deliver their child in the US, of which she is a citizen.
Earlier in May, she announced her pregnancy during an episode of “It’s Showtime,” where she is one of the hosts.
Padilla was unable to file for a US visa on time, following a conviction for possession of illegal firearms back in 1994. Gianna Francesca Catolico
