The recent break-up of the beatifically perfect “Brangelina” tandem of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has sent shock waves of tsunami proportions around the fan-tasticating world—but, some cynical biz observers note, it’s actually “business as usual” for Hollywood.
Fact is, stellar unions have a notoriously short shelf life, so couples who stay together for a full decade are extolled as heroes—and even uncanonized saints!
Hollywood, after all, is the infamously impermanent place where Kim Kardashian got married to NBA star Kris Humphries for only 72 days!
‘Uncoupled’
Other celebrity couples who quickly got uncoupled include (just a few days ago) Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts, who’ve separated after more than a decade together.
The rest of the tally this year is paced by Jennifer Lopez and dancer Casper Smart who “lasted” for five years. For her part, Lady Gaga called it quits with Taylor Kinney after a year of dating.
Kirsten Dunst lasted four years before throwing in the towel and ending her “exclusive” relationship with Garrett Hedlund.
Speaking of Kim Kardashian, her sister Khloe has stopped dating sports star James Harden, pleading her now extremely busy schedule as TV star and product endorser.
Another TV star, Lea Michele, and Matthew Paetz were together for two years before they split up recently. Matthew was the first man Lea dated after the death of her longtime love, Corey Montieth.
For his part, Idris Elba, who’s being touted as “possibly” the next James Bond, ended his three-year relationship with make-up artist Naiyana Garth—despite the fact that they have a young love child.
And, most “shockingly” of all, Sharon and Izzy Osbourne “mutually” decided to end their own “iconic” marriage—after 34 years!
