At the height of his career, Chris Benoit was the face of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), but now he literally has become a forgotten man.

Stemming from the tragic circumstances surrounding the death of his wife and son, Benoit has been erased from the WWE history, with the website removing all past mentions of him with the exception of his results and listings in the company’s title history.

Details of the haunting murder-suicide that occurred in the Benoit household in 2007 remain sketchy to most fans, and the nagging demand for these answers may be resolved in the upcoming biopic “Crossface.”

FEATURED STORIES

Named after Benoit’s finishing move, the much-awaited film will be directed by “Punisher: War Zone” director Lexi Alexander.

According to a report from The Sun, the film will also delve into the enigma surrounding the Canadian wrestler, based from Matthew Randazzo’s critically acclaimed book “Ring of Hell: The Story of Chris Benoit & the Fall of the Pro Wrestling Industry.”

Veteran actor Liev Schreiber, who somehow resembles Benoit, is reportedly set to portray the late WWE superstar, while Sarah Coulter wrote the script, which may include several familiar characters such as the late Eddie Guerrero and WWE chairman Vince McMahon.

As of this writing, not much is known about the film, including details of its production and possible release date.

Alexander, however, noted on Twitter that the announcement about her involvement with the film was supposed to be revealed via a press release, and additional information may be made public soon. Khristian Ibarrola
