The country’s Mr. Songwriter celebrates birthday with music
The concert entitled “Ayokong Tumanda” is yet another of Ogie’s tributes to Original Pilipino Music or OPM. The show will have a showering of OPM classics, as well as some of his well-loved compositions re-arranged to suit the present flavor of music. “Kailangan medyo modern yung dating nung ibang kanta, even if I composed it years ago. I just want to prove that music is really timeless,” says Ogie.
Sharing the stage with Ogie will be fellow singer-songwriters who comprise the roster of talents of ATeam, the management company he put up. “I will have Lara Maigue, Davey Langit, QYork and Basti Artadi as my guests, and I assure you they will each have their shining moments!” relates Ogie with an excited snicker.
Also supporting “Ayokong Tumanda” are his good friend Ai Ai delas Alas and his better half, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.
“Iba itong concert na ito. It will make you guys truly believe that OPM is timeless, and is definitely here to stay forever. Oo, merong forever!”
“Ayokong Tumanda” will be held at the Music Museum on August 26 and 27, 2016. Musical Direction is by Maestro Ryan Cayabyab, and Directed by Floy Quintos.
