THE LIFETIME channel provides viewers’ the best “couch companions” by way of new episodes of current TV hits: Season Two of “Zoo” premieres on Aug. 3 at 10 p.m., with experts investigating the mysterious and sudden behavior of animals all over the world.

Sofia makes her mark
After eye-catching roles in “Kingsman: The Secret Service” and “The Mummy,” Sofia Boutella plays Jaylah, the technologically adept alien who saves the life of Scotty (Simon Pegg) on the planet, Altamid, in “Star Trek Beyond.” The character may be an extraterrestrial, but the French actress makes her, in the words of producer J.J. Abrams, “unbelievably spirited, sweet, funny—and tough as hell!”

In “Teenage Newlyweds,” premiering at 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, viewers get to follow the lives of three newly married teen couples as they build a future together—while still growing up!
At 9 p.m. on Aug. 2, “Fit to Fat to Fit” follows 10 personal trainers who stop working out, gain weight, then start a weight-loss program!
Finally, “Home Grown Makeover with Frederique and Carter” transforms clients’ homes with an amazing combination of creativity and practicality. Telecast on FYI every Wednesday at 9 p.m.
