THE LIFETIME channel provides viewers’ the best “couch companions” by way of new episodes of current TV hits: Season Two of “Zoo” premieres on Aug. 3 at 10 p.m., with experts investigating the mysterious and sudden behavior of animals all over the world.

The second season of “Child Genius: Battle of the Brightest” gets off to a lively start at 10 p.m. on  Aug. 4. And “MasterChef Australia” yummily sizzles Mondays to Fridays at 8 p.m.
