Now on its eighth season, “MasterChef Australia” has  premiered on the Lifetime channel and airs at 8 p.m. weekdays.

Among this season’s contestants are Singapore-born siblings Jimmy Wong and Theresa Wong-Visintin, who bring an edge to the competition with their different styles and personalities. They both pursued careers in design until they realized that their true calling lay in cooking.


The popular cooking tilt’s judges are Gary Mehigan, Matt Preston and George Calombaris. Joining them are big names in cooking like Nigella Lawson, Heston Blumenthal and Marco Pierre White.


Guessing game begins

Oscar winners Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth are joined by Patrick Dempsey for the next chapter in the screen life of the world’s favorite singleton in the new romantic comedy, “Bridget Jones’ Baby,” megged by Sharon Maguire.

The movie’s guessing game is over the identity of her baby’s father. The film also stars Emma Thompson.

‘The Legend of Tarzan’

Acclaimed for his fearless pursuit of challenging roles, evolving with each new project, Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgard headlines his biggest studio film yet, “The Legend of Tarzan.”

Big reveal

The trailer of the new “Ben-Hur” action adventure epic proudly showcases its Christ-centric tone.
