Elwood Perez wins in Soho fest

Veteran filmmaker Elwood Perez won the Film Icon Visionary Award at the Soho International Film Festival, held in New York on Thursday. Perez was cited for his latest movie, “Esoterika Maynila.” He attended the event with “Esoterika” lead star, singer-actor Ronnie Liang. Perez directed some of the biggest movies in the 1970s and ’80s—including “Disgrasyada,” “Problem Child,”Pakawalan Mo Ako,” “Shame,” “Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit” and “Silip.” Bayani San Diego Jr.
