Bryan Cranston morphs into Zordon in ‘Power Rangers’ reboot
We all know and love Bryan Cranston as the meth-making and empire-building Walter White in “Breaking Bad,” but the versatile actor will now fulfill a new role—mentoring the Power Rangers.
The Emmy Award-winning actor is set to portray Zordon in the upcoming Lionsgate film due to be released in 2017.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Zordon is the recruiter and mentor of the five titular heroes.
In the hit ’90s TV show, he appeared as a floating holographic head inside a giant tube within the Power Rangers’ command center.
Zordon’s nemesis, Rita Repulsa, will be played by American actress Elizabeth Banks, according to a write-up in LAtimes.com.
Article continues after this advertisementCranston’s unexpected casting marks his return to the popular franchise, after lending his voice to characters Snizard and Twin Man in the very first season of the television show. He also revealed that one of the Power Rangers was named after him.
Article continues after this advertisement“They actually named one of the Power Rangers after me. The Blue Power Ranger’s last name is Cranston,” the 60-year-old said in an earlier report from IGN.
Cranston even teased the connection in his tweet confirming his new role.

Directed by Dean Israelite, “Power Rangers” will star fresh talents Becky G. (The Yellow Ranger), Dacre Montgomery (The Red Ranger), RJ Cyler (The Blue Ranger), Naomi Scott (The Pink Ranger) and Ludi Lin (The Black Ranger).
