Geek-pleasing trailers of the week bring back familiar young characters to a popular cable show and a film, in new installments of their ever-expanding sagas.
In HBO’s hit fantasy series, “Game of Thrones,” the Season 6 trailer augurs darker times for the warring kingdoms. “Mother of Dragons” Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) is seemingly a captive of nomads; the shamed tyrant Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) is poised to exact revenge on her religious-fanatic tormentors.
Jon Snow’s (Kit Harington) fate is teased—it’s still unclear if he will return to life, but he is shown prominently as a corpse, following last season’s shocking cliffhanger.
Returning after being absent for a season is psychic Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), who is now a teen. He is shown standing—he lost the use of his legs in the first season—so fans presume that it’s an astral projection, and while doing so, “meets” the mysterious villain, the Night’s King!
Meanwhile, “Captain America: Civil War” may as well be called “Avengers 3”—it’s got most of them, plus new characters, but the team is split in two.
