Chris Rock: Girl scouts sold $65,243 in cookies on Oscars night
Comedian Chris Rock put his Academy Awards host stint to good use by boosting the cookie sales of his daughter’s Girl Scout group.
Rock pointed to popular actors and actresses as his daughter and other girl scouts walked along the aisles of the 3,400-seater Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, US.

“I want you to reach into your millionaire pockets and I want you to buy some of my daughter’s Girl Scout cookies,” he said while hosting the Oscars on Monday.
He later revealed that the girl scouts were able to sell $65,243 worth of cookies. Fortune reported that among those who bought a box of cookies was Vice President Joe Biden.

Also spotted eating cookies were Best Actor Leonardo DiCaprio, who looked excited as he opened a box of shortbread cookies, and Christian Bale, who was seen munching on thin mints.
Girl Scouts sell cookies to fund activities and community projects. It is also meant to teach young girls life skills such as decision making, people skills and money management.
