Three Filipino films were selected as part of the competition section of the 11th Osaka Asian Film Festival, in Japan from March 4 to 13. Prime Cruz’s “Sleepless,” Dan Villegas’ “#Walang Forever” and Ralston G. Jover’s “Hamog” are competing in the fest. Producer Perci Intalan related that Cruz and “Sleepless” writer Jen Chuaunsu developed the script during the Cine Panulat workshop, spearheaded by coproducer Jun Robles Lana. “Sleepless” premiered at last year’s QCinema Film Festival, where it won the Netpac prize and best actor for Dominic Roco. Erik Matti’s “Honor Thy Father” will also be shown in the fest’s New Action section. Bayani San Diego Jr.
