‘Heneral Luna,’ John Arcilla nominated in Asian Film Awards

Jerrold Tarog’s highly acclaimed historical film “Heneral Luna” has been nominated under three categories in the 10th Asian Film Awards.

“Heneral Luna” lead actor John Arcilla was nominated for Best Actor, alongside Donnie Yen of Hong Kong (Ip Man 3), Nagase Masatoshi of Japan (An), Feng Xiaogang of China (Mr. Six) and Lee Byung-Hun of South Koea (Inside Men).

The film was also named a nominee for the Best Production Design and Best Costume Design.

The 10th edition of the Asian Film Awards will be held at The Venetian Theatre in Macau on March 17.

Dubbed as the highest-grossing Filipino historical film of all time, “Heneral Luna” was chosen as the Philippines’ entry to the foreign language category of the 2016 Academy Awards but failed to make it to the shortlist. YG
