Girl power

The most unexpected parts of the segment were when Adele covered the songs of other artists, whom others may not consider right up her alley.

She first sang Spice Girl’s “Wannabe.”

“It was a huge moment in my life when they came out. It was girl power. It was five ordinary girls, who did so well. It was an important moment in my life,” Adele said about the girl group which took music charts by storm in the 1990s.

She revealed Geri Halliwell, also known as Ginger Spice, was her favorite Spice Girl that’s why she was heartbroken when she left the band.

Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham tweeted Adele saying her cover was “genius,” while Halliwell professed her love to her fan.
