WATCH: Adele covers the Spice Girls, Nicki Minaj
Adele may be best known for her songs about heartbreak, but in the latest installment of Carpool Karaoke on “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” she shows to everyone just how fun she can be.
The hitmaker joined host James Corden for a drive around London. To pass of time in the car, they sang to some of her biggest hits like “Hello,” “Someone Like You,” “All I Ask” and “Rumor Has It.”
She surprised Corden when she said that she actually played drums for her current chart-topper Hello.

She explained that she has been naming her albums after her age because she wants to take her fans to a journey with her. Her latest record, “25” follows the critically and commercially successful “21” and “19.”

“This is the last album after my age. I believe in trilogies,” Adele said, which really surprised Corden.
“The next one is just gonna be ‘Adele’,” she said in jest.
Girl power
The most unexpected parts of the segment were when Adele covered the songs of other artists, whom others may not consider right up her alley.
She first sang Spice Girl’s “Wannabe.”
“It was a huge moment in my life when they came out. It was girl power. It was five ordinary girls, who did so well. It was an important moment in my life,” Adele said about the girl group which took music charts by storm in the 1990s.
She revealed Geri Halliwell, also known as Ginger Spice, was her favorite Spice Girl that’s why she was heartbroken when she left the band.
Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham tweeted Adele saying her cover was “genius,” while Halliwell professed her love to her fan.

The Grammy- and Oscar-winning songstress revealed that she cannot just sing—she can rap as well—when she took on the verse of Nicki Minaj’s “Monster,” complete with hand gestures and funny faces.
Minaj then took to her social media accounts to praise Adele for her rendition.
She posted on Instagram a clip of the segment with the caption: “Pull thru, QUEEN!!!!! 😜🙈🏆👑👑👑 #Adele #Monster the attitude & fingers to match. #Oh #Ok #IcoNIC ❤️ I cried when she waved bye to the careers 😩 #Hello #BuhBye 😩🙋🏽”
She also tweeted, “Adele is mad ratchet. I can’t take her😂 #UK #WutsGood.”
Aside from Adele, other artists who have been featured on the Karaoke Carpool include Stevie Wonder, One Direction and Justin Bieber. IDL
