“HONOR Thy Father,” one of the entries to the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) has been disqualified from the Best Picture Category, the festival organizers said on Saturday.

In a letter addressed to the film’s producer Ronald Stephen Monteverde, MMFF overall Chairman Emerson Carlos said the film was disqualified “after careful and thorough deliberation of the Metro Manila Film Festival Executive Committee.”

“Please be advised that due to your non-disclosure of your participation to the Cinema One Originals Film Festival as the opening film and after careful and thorough deliberation, the Metro Manila Film Festival Executive Committee has disqualified your entry, Honor Thy Father, from the selection of the Best Picture category of the MMFF 2015 Awards,” Carlos said in his letter.
