Aiko, Epy lead Filipino winners in Manhattan fest

Filipinos are on top of the list of winners at the recently concluded International Film Festival Manhattan. Aiko Melendez was chosen best actress for “Asintado,” which also won best director (global) for Louie Ignacio. Epy Quizon won best actor for the Singaporean film, Ken Kwek’s “Unlucky Plaza.” The cast of Joel Lamangan’s “Lihis”—led by Jake Cuenca, Joem Bascon, Lovi Poe, Isabelle Daza and Gloria Diaz—won best ensemble. Janice O’Hara’s “Sundalong Kanin” also won best film. Bayani San Diego Jr.
