CHAN. Getting good notices for his performance on “Destiny Rose.”

Tess Acasio, televiewer: “Ken Chan may be a relative newcomer, but his performance in ‘Destiny Rose’ is noteworthy. His gay portrayal is heartfelt and never over the top. It helps that he has soft facial features, and he knows how to use his eyes to make his characterization work. Manilyn Reynes also does well as his mother.”

Roanne Morales, student: “Thank goodness, ABS-CBN has made Angeline Quinto, Erik Santos and Jed Madela stop singing the theme songs of its teleseryes. No offense meant, but listening to their singing voices in teleserye after teleserye was getting too much.

“I’m glad that the people behind ‘On the Wings of Love’ chose Kyla to interpret the theme song of that TV series. She has one of the country’s most soulful voices.”

Jose Mari Maycacayan: “Informative and humorous, ‘Todo-Todo Walang Preno,’ hosted by Ariel Ureta and Winnie Cordero, is the best program on AM radio. On television, Net25’s travel show, ‘Landmarks,’ and GMA 7’s ‘Sarap Diva’ are commendable. And I miss the student quiz show, ‘Digital LG Quiz,’ which deserves to be revived.”
