AlDub smashes Twitter again with new record

The trending split-screen love team of actor Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, also known as “Yaya Dub,” has reached a new high as they posted a new Twitter record on Saturday.
The hashtag #ALDUBTheAbduction was used in 6.35 million tweets in just 24 hours, making it the top trending topic worldwide.
Saturday’s episode of “Kalye Serye” marked the second time that the split-screen lovers saw each other, but this time, they were being held hostage. It was revealed that it was “Duhrizz,” portrayed by Wally Bayola, who orchestrated the abduction of AlDub.
The fans took to social media their excitement as the pair briefly saw each other and sipped on a coffee drink using only a single straw.
Alden and Maine both posted on their Twitter accounts their sentiments about Saturday’s episode.
“What just happened #ALDUBTheAbduction but I couldn’t find the right words to use,” Maine said in separate tweets.
“Andun na eh, konti na lang eh! Tsk. #ALDUBTheAbduction,” Alden said.
Maine also posted tweets about their new Twitter record.
#ALDUBTheAbduction broke their previous record of 5.8 million tweets using the hashtag #ALDUBBattleForACause which trended last September 5 when the pair first saw each other. AJH
