Wonder Girls gear up for grand return
Wonder Girls unveiled the teaser videos for its upcoming album ahead of the K-pop girl group’s grand return on August 3.
Now a four-member pop band, the group has been raising expectations by releasing one teaser video each day from Tuesday to Friday, with each member playing her respective instrument.
On Tuesday, a video of Sunmi — who is rejoining the group after departing in 2010 — playing a base guitar went viral. Yubin showed off her drum skills in a video released on Wednesday and Thursday, with Hyerim playing the guitar. Finally, on Friday, Yeeun‘s video playing a piano was released.
Wonder Girls, originally a dance group, will return in a new outfit as a pop band in the upcoming album. The full-length album arrives after a three-year-hiatus since the band’s last EP “Wonder Party” in 2012.
The group debuted in 2007 and rose to stardom through dance hits such as “Tell Me,” “Nobody” and “So Hot.” In 2012, Wonder Girls halted its activities following Sunye’s marriage and Sohee’s transfer of the agency. On Monday, the two officially left Wonder Girls.
