‘Ruined Heart’ competes in Barcelona

Khavn de la Cruz’s “Ruined Heart: Another Love Story Between a Criminal and a Whore” will compete at the 5th Atlántida Film Festival, in Barcelona, Spain, which starts tomorrow and ends July 9. The fest’s site called the Filipino film “a peculiarly romantic crime story… propelled by an eclectic musical wave, video-clip aesthetics and the photography of Christopher Doyle and his clear reference: Wong Kar-wai.” Organized by the website Filmin, the fest “aims to screen high-quality films that are unreleased in Spain.” Bayani San Diego Jr.
