After leaving his British boy band last March, Zayn Malik lashed out at One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson on Twitter following a few nasty exchanges between his new producer Shahid Khan and his former bandmate.
The Twitter feud began when Khan, who calls himself “Naughty Boy,” posted a photo of him and Malik with the caption “Replace this”—an alleged reference to reports that One Direction might find a replacement for Malik soon.
Tomlinson then tweeted what seemed to be his reaction to Naughty Boy’s photo editing skills.
“Remember when you were 12 and you used to think those Mac filters for your pictures were cool haha! Some people still do HA!” he said.
Khan replied to his tweet by saying that “some people can’t even sing,” to which Tomlinson responded: “How does it feel to be riding on the back of someone else’s career?”
The exchanges started to get steamier when Malik involved himself in the thread.
“Remember when you had a life and stopped making bitchy comments about mine?” Malik tweeted to Tomlinson.
Instead of replying to his ex-bandmate, Tomlinson commented on another tweet of Naughty Boy.
Malik left One Direction last March in the middle of their world tour “to live a normal life.”
