El Gamma Penumbra Earns 2nd Golden Buzzer | Asia’s Got Talent Semis 3

Filipino shadow play group El Gamma Penumbra on Thursday darted to the grand finals of “Asia’s Got Talent’ after receiving their second Golden Buzzer from the judges.

The group captivated their audience once again when they performed an act promoting world peace and love to Matisyahu’s inspiring song “One Day”.

“I just want to say that I live in a box, where I make music in a studio. And tonight, I got to come outside of my box and see something that was so, so moving and magical. It just amazed me,” said judge David Foster after the group’s performance.

On the show’s April 2 episode, judge Anggun pressed the Golden Buzzer for the group after they featured various tourist spots around the world, sending them straight to the semifinals.

This time she was moved to tears again. “It was really emotional and you make me really proud.”

“Thank you Asia especially to all Filipinos around the world who are with us in this amazing journey. Because of your support and prayers, El Gamma Penumbra (is) now (going) straight (to) the grand finals,” El Gamma Penumbra said in a Facebook post after the show.

On the same episode, Filipina classical singer Gerphil Flores also advanced to the grand finals by winning through public votes.

El Gamma Penumbra and Gerphil Flores will be joining fellow Filipinos singer Gwyneth Dorado and hip-hop dance group Junior New System in the finals on May 7.

Other finalists include Gao Lin and Liu Xin (China), Khusugtun (Mongolia) and Triqstar (Japan). The two remaining finalists will be revealed next week.

The results of the grand finals will be announced on May 14.

Viewers can vote for their favorite acts in one of three ways: SMS, Facebook and the “Asia’s Got Talent” mobile app.

In the Philippines, text SMS AGT(Contestant number) to 2929. This service only supports Smart and Globe and charges will be applied to customer’s mobile.

Voting opens after the broadcast of the semi-final episode and will remain open for four days. Further details on how to vote can be found on the website: https://asiasgottalent.tv/vote/
