Manny Pacquiao invites Willie Revillame to watch fight in Vegas—report

He may be known for giving his audience jackets, but Kapuso host Willie Revillame has revealed that he got offered this year’s hottest ticket.

Revillame said he was invited by Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao to watch his fight against undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. in Las Vegas on May 2 (May 3, Philippine time.)

In an exclusive report published on Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) on Wednesday, Pacquiao reportedly reserved one ticket for Revillame so he could watch the “fight of the century” at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He said that Pacquiao’s wife Jinkee was the first one who invited him to watch the fight live.

“Si Jinkee [sabi niya], ‘Hi Willie! Kung gusto mong manood, ha, just tell us, may ticket ako for you’ (Jinkee said, ‘Hi Willie! If you want to watch the fight live, just tell us, I have a ticket for you’),” Revillame recalled.

The “Wowowin” host said that he boosted the Filipino boxer’s morale by saying that the Filipinos support him.

Pacquiao also told him that he will win the bout against Mayweather.

“Sabi ko, ‘Pinapanood kita lagi, yung training mo. Good luck. Manalo, matalo, proud mga Pilipino sa ‘yo.’ (I told him, ‘I watch you while training. Good luck. Win or lose, the Filipinos are proud of you’)”

“Sabi niya (Pacquiao), ‘Pare, mananalo tayo. Basta mananalo tayo’,(We will win. We will win.)” the Kapuso host said.

However, despite the invitation, Revillame declined the offer, saying that he was busy preparing for his game show, “Wowowin” which will start airing on May 10 on GMA-7. AJH/IDL
