Carmina Villaroel had no inkling Rustom Padilla was gay

ACTRESS Carmina Villaroel admitted on Sunday that she had no inkling that her former husband Rustom Padilla was gay.

In an interview on The Buzz, host Boy Abunda asked Villaroel: “Noong kayo ay magkasama, did you have an inkling that he had a different sexual preference?”

The actress took a few seconds to answer the question, with Abunda even telling her that she has the chance to not answer.

“You don’t have to answer that,” Abunda said.

“I’ll answer it. No. Wala po,” the “Bridges of Love” star said.

The actress also answered questions regarding other issues including her controversial kissing scene with Paulo Avelino in their teleserye which trended worldwide.

Villaroel and Padilla, who now identifies himself as BB Gandanghari, were married in 1994 but separated in 1996. The annulment of their marriage was granted in 2002.

During his stint in Pinoy Big Brother in 2006, Padilla admitted that he was gay and in 2009, he came back to the country from the United States as a transgender woman. AJH/AC
