In photos: Family, celebrity friends grace Julia Barretto’s debut
MANILA, Philippines—Teen actress Julia Barretto celebrated her 18th birthday at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel on Tuesday night.
Julia’s birthday was attended by Philippine showbiz A-listers and close friends and served as a reunion for her family, one of the more controversial clans in the industry.
She was stunning in her coming-out party, where she wore a red gown with a sweetheart neckline and full skirt made by renowned Dubai-based Filipino designer Michael Cinco.
Teen actor Iñigo Pascual was Julia’s escort for the night.
Former actress Marjorie Barretto and actor Dennis Padilla, Julia’s parents, were present at the party. Her aunt Claudine Barretto also attended the event.
Some celebrities seen during the party were Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Liza Soberano, Miss World 2013 Megan Young, Enrique Gil, Richard Gomez, Lucy Torres-Gomez, and Ruffa Gutierrez.
Journalist Karen Davila, lawyer Lorna Kapunan, talent manager Arnold Vegafria, and Bench founder Ben Chan also graced Julia’s debut.
In a message to her daughter, Marjorie said that now that she has turned 18, Julia is now ready to face the world.
“Thank you Lord for giving her to me… And thank you to all those who love her, and to everyone who is working so hard to give Julia only the best tonight. Happiest Birthday, my Julia. You are one tough lady… You are ready,” she said in a post on her Instagram account on Wednesday.
The silver, gray and white-themed party was accented with carnival elements, as seen in the carousel-inspired stage and decors. AJH
