Marc Nelson, Rovilson Fernandez caught off guard by crying ‘Asia’s Got Talent’ act

MANILA, Philippines—Being reality television show hosts accustomed to a “happy” environment, best friends Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez were caught off guard when they encountered an “Asia’s Got Talent” act who cried after they failed to enter the competition.

“The first time an act cried next to us, Marc and I were like, ‘Oh my God, what are we going to do?’ We never experienced…we’re reality hosts, the ambiance is joy…the feeling is always happiness and joy and we’re celebrating something, “Fernandez said in a sit-down interview with INQUIRER.net.

The “Ang Pinaka” host said that he can’t forget that moment as they were caught off guard.

“Now, we’re faced with someone crying next to us, their dreams were dashed and we had to consult them with a level of professionalism and sa TV pa! So we we’re caught off guard. I won’t forget that because we felt so bad because we could have handled it well,” Fernandez said.

Nelson, for his part, said that hosting the “biggest talent show in the world” is both demanding and fun.

“We work long hours. And we enjoy ourselves so much with one of my best friends, it is fun. And you watch these talents go out there and give their all. These are incredibly talented people so it’s like having a free show. I treasure each day no matter how long it is. I’m just like, ‘Wow! This is great!’ and I can’t wait for tomorrow to do it all again,” the “Sports Unlimited” host said.

Working with international superstars Vaness Wu of “F4,” singer Anggu, famous producer David Foster and former Spice Girls member Melanie C., is an honor, they said.

Both described Melanie C. as “fit,” Wu as “the nicest judge,” Foster as a “legend,” and Anggun “as having both a beautiful face and a beautiful soul.”
