MANILA, Philippines–”The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin” starring comedian Vice Ganda leads the box office race in the opening of the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) on December 25.
Chairman Francis Tolentino of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said in a radio interview in DZMM that “Praybeyt Benjamin,” which also stars Kris Aquino’s son Bimby Yap, topped the box office record.
Tolentino said Vic Sotto and Ryza Mae Dizon’s “My Big Bossing” landed on the second spot while Kris Aquino and Coco Martin’s horror movie “Feng Shui 2” ranked third.
Tolentino, however, did not release yet the official figures of the sales on the MMFF’s opening day.
Other entries in the MMFF include historical drama “Bonifacio: ‘Ang Unang Pangulo,’” romance-comedy “English Only Please,” action-fantasy “Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles 2,” action film “Magnum Muslim .357,” and horror film “Shake, Rattle & Roll XV.”
All entries at the MMFF this year will be shown from December 25, 2014, until January 7, 2015.
